Songaksan Trail
A scenic walking course around Songaksan Mountain, full of verdant nature and important historical sites
The Songaksan Dullegil is a circular trail surrounding Songaksan Mountain, also known as 99 Peaks. The mountain is famous for its rare double crater, making it of great interest to volcanologists, and the trail provides clear views of the offshore islands of Gapado, Hyeongjesum, and Marado. The trail is an easy walk, perfect for families and pets, featuring gentle slopes with no rugged terrain to watch out for. A horse pasture offers some lovely vistas, while the bracing sea wind of Jeju accompanies hikers along the open trail.
Along the cliffside path overlooking the blue sea lies a fork in the road: one path leads to the summit, and the other to an observatory. While the view from the observatory is lovely, we recommend those with the time and energy try out the path to the summit. It’s about a 15-minute climb up gentle stairs to reach a stunning view of the boundless ocean stretching out to the horizon.
